Teaming Up At School Or Work To Lose Weight
Have you heard the old saying, “the quickest way to get where you want to go is to help somebody else get there”?

Allowing your week to revolve around one event generally isn’t a good idea. If that one event turns sour, so does your week. When you are on a diet, your weigh-in can become that one event. If your diet is important to you, then your weigh-in will also be very important to you. A weigh-in will give you “thumbs up,” “thumbs down” or “hanging on”; it is your weekly progress report.
We commonly go out to eat to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, etc. We entertain with elaborate dinners at home or in restaurants. At church functions often involve potluck meals. Almost all cultures prepare and serve foods to comfort those who have experienced loss, to celebrate joy, or to show friendship and love. You name it and somehow it revolves around food. Food is obviously very important in our lives, not merely as a source of fuel.
Does this describe your family? You cook a different food for each member of the family three times a day, and your spouse and kids each have something they “won’t eat” or “must eat” at every meal. If you served a meal that everyone liked, it would have to be something deep fried or maybe pizza. It can be challenging to get members of your family on the same page regarding eating healthy foods
There’s an old saying;
“If you don’t know where you’re going, all roads lead there (nowhere!)”
We speak to many people who want to reduce their weight and one of the first things we ask them is “how much do you want to reduce your weight by?” The usual answer we usually get back is something along the lines of:
“Oh, I don’t know, I just want to get rid of my excess weight” or “I’m just trying to lose a bit of weight”.
